Laziness

By Benjamín García

Laziness is the true evil of modernity. We do not want to take life into our hands, but small portions, inane fragments. So instead of becoming people, we look for idols, like the humanimals in the novel Dr. Moreau Island.

The next utopia must be that of the human being without idols. A person capable of taking the kingdom of his citizenship into his hands, a person capable of bearing the weight of his own flags. Not one who waits at the bottom of his room for the Saviour who will rescue them from the solitude, filth and misery of existence.

When the Matrix film emerged, in the late 1990s and early new millennium, many of us were immersed in that yearning, in that dream of becoming the chosen one, destined to disrupt reality and drive the course of our dreams. To a certain extent, we are wrong, and to a certain extent not, because each one is the chosen one, provided that we are willing to take life into our own hands, in our own way.

The unic way is call the gods, and each god are you.

The only way is to call the gods... and every god is you.
